KARSOG VALLEY

Karsog is a small town and nagar panchyat situated in the lap of Himalayas, near Shimla, at a height of 1,404 metres. It is in the Karsog Mandal subdivision of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh in India. It lies in the Pir Panjal range of Himalayas bordering Shimla District.Karsog is famous for its temples, including the Mamleshwar Mahadev, Kamksha Devi and Mahunag temples. It is full of scenic beauty and abundance of apple orchards. The natural surroundings are regarded as beautiful, with green forests and a pollution-free environment. Accessible from the state capital Shimla, the tracks around Karsog and Chindi are among the most picturesque areas of Himachal Pradesh.

Shikari Devi

SHIKARI DEVI TEMPLE

Shikari Devi temple, situated at a height of 3359 m above sea level, is an old roofless temple on the Shikari Devi Peak. The temple is devoted to Goddess Shikari Devi and is surrounded by dense forests, wooded hills and snow covered mountains. The temple is close to a serai and a forest rest-house that provides accommodation to tourists. It is also the main base camp for trekking at the Shikari Devi Peak. Mahunag Temple

MAHUNAG TEMPLE

Mahunag temple is in Mahu village of Karsog subdivision of Mandi district, which is more than 100 km from Sundernagar valley.Mahu Nag Devta is the main deity of old Suket estate (now became Sundernagar). The Dev Mahu Nag Fair is held in the Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh in the month of April every year. It is an event where all religious devtas and devi's makes for wonderful combination. This annual fair attracts a good number of devotees and tourists visiting the Mahu Nag Temple on main Sanskranti Day. A Big amount of Visitors keep visiting Mahunag Temple almost every month in year.

Kamrunag Temple

KAMRUNAG TEMPLE

Kamrunag is Well Known Lord Of rain in Mandi Himachal Pradesh and peoples visit every year on SAZA (First Day Of Month as per Local calander) of June July.June July is best season to visit this holly place. However you can visit it upto november before having snowfall and cold there. Kamrunag Lake, situated 9000 ft above Mandi district, is frozen even as temperature soared - up in the low lying areas of the district in Himachal Pradesh on February 19, 2008. Being a famous tourist attraction, the lake is also of religious importance as the Kamrunag Temple is situated on the banks of the lake and the Kamrunag religious fair is held every year.

Jalpa Mata Temple

JALPA MATA TEMPLE

Maa Jalpa Mandir is a temple situated on a hill top, the hill is approximately 500m high and is 7Kms away from the district place Rajgarh. The temple can be reached by local transportation, Govt / Pvt. transportation. The temple is said to be one of the most ancient temple of Rajgarh District, The Umat Clan Kings who were huge devotees of mataji built the temple. The temple has a huge lobby and a stautue of mata, along with the mata temple a small temple of Hanuman is build recently on the same hill by local authorities.

MAMLESHWAR TEMPLE

This is the most famous Shiva temple in Karsog valley and town. Though the town is densely populated the ancient temple is situated in the less populated suburban area. Stone and wood built temple is situated on a high platform and has arched rood made of squire slates. Most interesting things to see here are a musical instrument believed to have played by Pandavas of Mahabharata and an ancient grain of 200grams! Near by Kamakshi temple is also worth visiting in Karsog for its unique architecture and exquisite wood carvings in outer walls.
